The plasma coating method involves fusing various metals and ceramics using a thermal spraying technique, and then coating a fluororesin and various polymers on top of the sprayed surface to form a composite skin. This method is used when a coating requires strict wear resistance. The skin created by the plasma coating method maintains its intended functionality even when the surface is rubbed and the polymer is worn away, thanks to the polymer that is embedded in the recesses of the sprayed surface.
