Our company has added chlorinated paraffin standards from the Dr. Ehrenstorfer brand manufactured by LGC to our lineup. 【New Product】 -NEW- ◆ Medium-chain and long-chain chlorinated paraffins Chlorinated paraffins with a carbon number of 14 to 17 are referred to as medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCP), while those with a carbon number of 17 or more are called long-chain chlorinated paraffins (LCCP). ◆ Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP) These were used as plasticizers in polyvinyl chloride for metalworking oils and wire coatings, but due to their persistence, high bioaccumulation potential, and toxicity to humans and organisms, it was decided at the 8th Conference of the Parties (COP8) of the POPs Convention held in April 2017 to add them to Annex A (elimination) of the convention. Additionally, in Japan, they were designated as Class I specified chemical substances under the Chemical Substances Control Law in April 2018, and their manufacture and import are generally prohibited. Furthermore, in 2008, they were listed as a new substance proposed for addition under the RoHS Directive and identified as a substance of very high concern under REACH, with regulations tending to be strengthened.
