Rapid Test Selective Enrichment Medium for Salmonella "Lambquick Salmonella"
A new rapid culture medium that combines two types of ISO selective enrichment media!
Our company offers various selective enrichment media for the foodborne pathogen "Salmonella." This medium combines the selectivity of both Rappaport-Vassiliadis (RV) medium and Tetrathionate (TT) medium. As a result, the enrichment efficiency for Salmonella has increased, leading to improved detection sensitivity and a significant reduction in culture time. By combining Chromagar Salmonella with a latex agglutination kit, it is possible to complete testing within three days. Additionally, we also provide Rappaport-Vassiliadis liquid medium and Tetrathionate liquid medium. Please choose according to your needs. For more details, please refer to the catalog below.
basic information
Salmonella is a representative foodborne pathogen alongside Campylobacter and Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella food poisoning ranks among the top foodborne illnesses in terms of both the number of incidents and patients each year. The testing for Salmonella involves a two-step enrichment culture: a pre-enrichment culture for recovering damaged bacteria, followed by a selective enrichment culture that specifically promotes the growth of Salmonella, after which isolation is performed using agar media. If colonies suspected to be Salmonella appear, further confirmation tests are conducted, so standard testing takes about four days to reach a conclusion.
