Chromagar Campylobacter, a selective isolation medium for Campylobacter.
New product!!
Our company offers a variety of media related to Campylobacter. This medium is an enzyme substrate medium for the selective isolation of Campylobacter. It has high selectivity and is a transparent medium that does not contain activated charcoal or blood. Due to the special enzyme substrate, colonies of Campylobacter jejuni, coli, and lari appear red, allowing for clear differentiation from other bacteria. In addition to this medium, we also handle Bolton selective enrichment medium, Preston Campylobacter selective enrichment medium, and CCDA agar medium with enhanced suppression of growth for ESBL-producing bacteria, among others. Please feel free to contact us.
basic information
In bacterial food poisoning, Campylobacter food poisoning has the highest number of reported cases, and it ranks second overall in food poisoning incidents after norovirus. In food testing, Campylobacter is isolated from selective media after enrichment culture. If colonies suspected to be Campylobacter appear, it takes about 4 to 5 days to confirm the results through further testing. Additionally, since Campylobacter prefers microaerophilic conditions, a specialized gas generator is required. Using "71531 Campylobacter Stomach Bags" for enrichment culture can create microaerophilic conditions.
