This medium is a selective isolation medium for EHEC, Salmonella, and Shigella. Fecal examinations for food handlers will be conducted for the detection of Salmonella species and Shigella carriers. We have commercialized "SS Extra 2," which enhances the differentiation ability and selectivity of the commonly used SS medium for these tests. In addition to this medium, our company offers three types of SS media with different selectivity for clinical microbiological examinations targeting feces. Please choose according to your desired selectivity.

The history of Salmonella in humans began in 1888 when Salmonella Enteritidis was isolated from acute gastroenteritis and identified as the cause of the enteritis.
