Clostridium selective enrichment medium for microbial testing
Simplify the complex pouch method for testing Clostridium species with a qualitative test using a medium that does not require anaerobic culture!
The "Clostridium Selective Enrichment Medium" is a selective enrichment medium for qualitative testing of anaerobic spore-forming bacteria (Clostridium species). Therefore, Kanto Chemical sells Clostridium selective enrichment medium for qualitative testing. 【Features】 ■ Does not require anaerobic culture equipment for cultivation. (Can be cultured under aerobic conditions) ■ After stomaching treatment, heat treatment at 70°C for 20 minutes is unnecessary due to the selectivity of the medium itself. ■ The blackening of the medium due to sulfite reduction allows for easy confirmation of the presence or absence of Clostridium species. basic information
Clostridium species form spores when their growth environment deteriorates, allowing them to withstand heat, chemicals, and starvation. Therefore, although they are anaerobic, they are widely distributed in the intestines of animals, including humans, as well as in soil, and in sediments at the bottom of the sea and lakes. Meat products, seafood, and vegetables are often contaminated with Clostridium species, which can lead to a decline in quality, spoilage, and in some cases, food poisoning.
