The fanless embedded PC "Box Computer(R)" and the all-in-one industrial PC with a touchscreen display "Panel Computer" have implemented the "Power Cut Protect(R)" feature, which supports operation without shutdown processing, and are being released sequentially. By adopting CFast SSD as the boot drive, we have achieved a fanless and spindle-less design with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB 2016 pre-installed. This feature protects data being written even during sudden power outages, and when used in conjunction with Windows' lockdown (disk write suppression) function, it enables safe power-off without the need for OS shutdown processing. The products compatible with "Power Cut Protect(R)" utilize SSDs equipped with powerful protection features. When a voltage drop occurs, the SSD immediately stops accepting new write operations, performs the final write operation before power is lost, and prevents data loss. Additionally, the write protection feature of the SSD can be easily enabled through BIOS settings.

Industrial computers, which are adopted in various devices for embedded use, require a shutdown operation to turn off the power, and to protect the equipment from unintended power outages, it was necessary to implement measures such as adding backup power supplies. "Power Cut Protection (R)" not only protects computers from these risks but also contributes to further miniaturization, reduction of components, and cost reduction of embedded devices. Additionally, features such as "CONTEC Fast Boot," which enables Windows to boot in as little as 8 seconds, "Secure Boot USB Key," which allows OS boot locking using a USB device as a key, "Disk Copy," which enables disk image backup from the BIOS, and "Self-Diagnosis," which allows device diagnostics from the BIOS, enhance the system's availability and reliability.

Original feature exclusive to Contec 1 - Supports power interruption operation without shutdown "Power Interruption Protect (R)": By combining with the light filter function of Windows Embedded / IoT, it enables operation without shutdown during power interruptions. It also prevents data loss troubles caused by sudden power outages. Products compatible with "Power Interruption Protect (R)" use SSDs equipped with strong protection features. When a voltage drop occurs, it immediately stops accepting new write operations to the SSD, performing the final write operation before power is lost to prevent data loss. Additionally, the write protection feature of the SSD can be easily enabled through BIOS settings. It is possible to ROM-ize operating systems without light filter functions, such as Linux.

Original feature exclusive to Contec 2 - Fastest 8-second boot "CONTEC Fast Boot": Achieves fast boot for Windows 10. The setup is simple; just change CONTEC Fast Boot to Enable in the BIOS Setup and enable the HORM function on the OS side. Of course, even with the HORM function disabled, boot time is significantly reduced. *The factory default setting is CONTEC Fast Boot: Disable, and the OS's HORM function is disabled. Enabling CONTEC Fast Boot will disable the functions of the TPM (Trusted Platform Module), watchdog timer, GPIO, and other microcontroller functions.
