Black Carbon Measurement: KNF Pump, A Scientific Adventure

Two pilots flying round trip from Patagonia to Alaska gained insights into the distribution of black carbon and carbon dioxide across the Americas using KNF pumps. With over 150 hours of flight time and more than 40,000 km (over 24,000 miles) traveled, these passionate pilots visited more than 22 countries in the Americas. The KNF pump was installed in their homemade aircraft.
