The steel mill has many narrow spaces, such as "trenches," where welding work on piping is difficult. Many facilities have pumps, electrical wiring, hoses, and fittings nearby, requiring protective measures for hot work, which takes time. The "downtime" until the equipment is restored leads to losses for the steel mill. In particular, hydraulic piping is easily affected by temperature, pressure, and vibration, which can cause leaks. By using Lokring fittings as an alternative to welding, access to narrow spaces is made easier due to the shape of the specialized tools. Since no open flame is used, protective measures against fire are unnecessary, reducing the risk of fire and significantly improving safety. The installation does not require special skills and can be completed in a short time, thereby reducing equipment downtime, increasing productivity, and significantly lowering costs. Lokring fittings comply with ASME B31 and have performance comparable to welding, making them suitable for use under harsh conditions, thus solving many challenges associated with pipe welding.
