【Case Study】Space-saving to Improve Research Efficiency!
The new standard for laboratory centrifuges. Achieving operability, cleanability, and space-saving all in one!
We received an inquiry from Company D, which manufactures and sells pharmaceuticals, asking, "Is there a lab centrifuge that considers design and handling?" In response, we proposed the LAC-2000 type E, an improved version of the conventional LAC-2000 model. We thoroughly reviewed the workflow, cleaning ease, appearance, and footprint, and after much trial and error with users, we completed the design. The exterior is made entirely of stainless steel, with the control panel integrated into the equipment. Prioritizing ease of use for researchers, we have carefully designed the height and layout. Additionally, a small slurry tank is mounted on top, allowing for gravity-fed liquid supply, which eliminates the need for a pump and saves space. The waste liquid processing has also been improved by combining a buffer tank with a transport device, enhancing usability. During inspections, we received high praise for the appearance and operability, making it a unit that significantly contributes to efficiency in research settings.
basic information
- Model: LAC-2000 type E - Exterior: All stainless steel - Control panel: Integrated with the body for improved operability - Liquid supply method: Gravity feed from the upper slurry tank (no pump required) - Liquid discharge treatment: Buffer tank + transport device design - Waste liquid tank: Designed for easy handling with a cart-mounted system - Size: Significantly space-saving compared to conventional models - Features: Optimized workflow, cleanliness, and design through a modular structure This is a next-generation laboratory centrifuge that combines all the requirements for "ease of use, cleanliness, and efficiency" needed for research and development applications.

Applications/Examples of results
- Pharmaceutical Development Research Institute: Testing and separation of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates - Chemical Manufacturer: Slurry processing and filtration tests in small-scale trials - Universities and Research Institutions: Utilization in small-scale tests during the research and development phase - Precision Materials Manufacturer: Testing and separation of electronic materials and high-performance resins As a result, it has been adopted by Company D, which engages in pharmaceutical manufacturing and sales. Its space-saving design allows for installation even in limited laboratory spaces, and it has received high evaluations in appearance, operability, and cleanliness. This case has significantly simplified the testing process while simultaneously improving laboratory efficiency and reducing the burden on researchers.
Detailed information
-
◎Small installation space - The installation area is small compared to the processing capacity, allowing it to be installed in narrow spaces. ◎Low load on factory buildings - With the motor located at the center of the centrifuge, there is minimal vibration, which does not affect the frame or buildings. ◎Prevention of foreign matter contamination - There are no worn parts like belts, eliminating the occurrence of contamination and making maintenance easy.
-
Improvement of cleanability and prevention of foreign matter contamination. Since the wetted parts and the basket section can be fully opened, it becomes easier to clean and verify cleanliness, thereby reducing the risk of foreign matter contamination.
-
◎Labor-saving, automation, and unmanned operation - The slurry supply, separation, cake washing, crystal recovery, and cleaning can all be controlled automatically via a control panel without human intervention, enabling labor-saving through reduced operator involvement. - By using metal filter media, there is no need to replace the filter cloth.
