Introducing a case study of a machined tool holder for SCM415 as an alternative to whetstone grinding!
"Film polishing" can achieve an excellent surface finish in a short time while minimizing polishing unevenness and the occurrence of scratches. We received a request from a tool holder manufacturer for taper surface polishing aimed at improving surface roughness. The workpiece is a tool holder for machining, and the material is SCM415. Using a microfilm of 15μ, we processed for 25 seconds, and the measurement results after processing were R max 0.329μm/Ra 0.029μm.
