It is mandated by law to monitor the amounts of total phosphorus, total nitrogen, organic matter, and other substances that cause water quality pollution. For factory wastewater, management items are specified in JIS K0102, and all items can be measured using the FIA-300 series. Additionally, organic matter is managed as TOC (total organic carbon) and can be measured with the TOC-310V.
