By applying angle control to a high-precision laser distance sensor, it has become possible to measure and display X/Y coordinates. Achieving the precision that was insufficient in three-dimensional measurements is now feasible. It is easy and quick to measure the diameter, roundness, and displacement of large cylindrical structures.
