Non-stick(9)
Fluororesins have an extremely stable molecular structure due to the strong "C-F bonds" between carbon (C) and fluorine (F). As a result, they do not bond (i.e., adhere) to other substances and exhibit excellent water repellency (i.e., cleanability). The water contact angle of fluororesins is about 110°, which is far superior compared to finishes like stainless steel buffing. *The water repellency, which serves as a guideline for cleanability, is generally expressed in terms of the water contact angle; the larger the contact angle, the better the "water repellency," and it is considered to have good non-stick and cleanability properties.*

Electrostatic discharge prevention(6)
General fluororesins have a volume resistivity of 10^16Ωcm to 10^18Ωcm, making them extremely excellent insulating materials. On the other hand, due to this insulating property, fluororesins are considered representative materials that are prone to static electricity. When static electricity builds up, there is a risk of ignition or explosion under conditions such as organic solvent atmospheres. Additionally, static electricity-related issues, such as powder adhesion and the charge separation that occurs when two materials are pulled apart, have become significant challenges in many industries. At Japan Fluorine Industry, we have developed antistatic fluororesin coatings (EC series) with a leakage resistance value of less than 10^7Ωcm, which are being adopted in various industries.

Low friction(2)
Fluororesin has the lowest friction coefficient among solids, with a dynamic friction coefficient of 0.1 for PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). Therefore, it has excellent sliding properties and is used in sliding components where powdered materials or lubricants cannot be used.

Insulation(1)
General fluororesins have a volume resistivity of 10^16Ωcm to 10^18Ωcm, making them extremely excellent insulating materials. In cases where charging is a concern, this insulation property is utilized for applications such as insulating components and preventing electrolysis.
