It is possible to create a variety of complex shapes, including large and thick forms, and it can accommodate small to medium production runs. It has excellent low-temperature properties and chemical resistance, and flame-retardant grades are also available. Halogen-free flame-retardant molded products can be produced. It does not contain glass fibers, and dioxins are not generated during incineration, making it environmentally friendly.

RIM molding is an energy-efficient molding method that simultaneously performs reaction and shaping within a mold, allowing for the production of large molded products under even simpler molding conditions than before. The material used is a low-viscosity liquid called DCPD (dicyclopentadiene) with a specific gravity of 1.03.
