  PILOT Fine Ceramics is a unique ceramic product that utilizes core technologies such as mixing, extrusion molding, and firing, which we have developed through our mechanical pencil production. With our uniquely developed extrusion molding equipment and firing know-how, we create high-density, high-strength, and high-purity ceramics that are precisely formed and uniformly fired. Furthermore, by adding secondary processing, we can provide high precision (micron order) dimensional accuracy for inner and outer diameters, as well as surface smoothness (sub-micron order) in surface roughness.

  Microporous ceramics(9)

  Holes with a high aspect ratio penetrate in the extrusion direction. Generally, in machining, deep holes with an aspect ratio (depth/inner diameter) of 5 to 10 or more are considered difficult for holes with a diameter of less than 1mm. With extrusion molding technology, it is possible to produce items with an aspect ratio of over 200. It is possible to manufacture with a freely adjustable wall thickness, from thin to thick.

  Based on the molding know-how and mold technology developed with writing instruments, we can manufacture small and complex-shaped ceramic injection molding (CIM) parts.

  Porous ceramics(4)

  In porous ceramics, flow rates that are difficult to stabilize can be stabilized by through-holes formed in the extrusion direction. High-precision small holes and a uniform number of holes are suitable for controlling the flow of gases and liquids. Unlike porous bodies, the holes are straight through, allowing for uniform and stable flow rates, resulting in lower pressure loss.

  It is possible to perform submicron precision machining on ceramics. High-precision outer diameter machining at the submicron level is possible. High-precision hole machining with a diameter of 40μm or more is possible. High-precision surface finishing is possible.

  We can join and assemble ceramics with dissimilar materials such as metals and plastics. We manufacture composite products of ceramics and metals through methods such as adhesion and press-fitting. By producing optical communication ferrules with hole diameters tailored to user requirements, we can assemble optical connectors, optical devices, and various ceramic components onto special outer diameter optical fibers.
