Deburring of small holes and cross holes - Michigan Deburring Tool

Demonstrates power in precision deburring and chamfering of the front and back surfaces of small holes.

The Michigan deburring tool, born in America, has a very simple structure and is designed to remove burrs from both the front and back surfaces of the holes created. The processing does not require complex program creation; it finishes the deburring work for both the front and back holes with a single pass (using only clockwise rotation for the back-and-forth motion), significantly reducing the processing cost per hole.

basic information

【Cartridge Type】 This is a two-part structure (holder + cartridge) that accommodates deburring for hole diameters from Φ1.00mm to Φ2.34mm. 【Modular Type】 This is a three-part structure (holder + pilot + blade) that accommodates deburring for small diameter holes (Φ1.45mm to Φ6.53mm). 【Auto-Lock Type】 This is a two-part structure (holder + blade) that accommodates hole diameters from Φ6.43mm to Φ26.00mm. Both the cartridge type and modular type have a standardized holder end diameter of Φ6, and by attaching the dedicated handle MDT-800, they can be used not only with drill presses and machining centers but also for manual deburring. Each type comes standard with a blade that can be used on both the front and back surfaces (with cutting angles of 45° or 52°). There are also optional blades specifically for the back surface and blades with a cutting angle of 60°.

Applications/Examples of results

In the case of through holes, it is possible to simultaneously deburr and chamfer both the front and back surfaces in one pass (one back-and-forth motion), enabling high-precision machining without complex programming or tool changes. It accommodates a wide range of work materials, from general steel to aluminum and stainless steel, and can perform deburring on the back side using only clockwise rotation (back-and-forth motion in the Z direction), eliminating the need to flip the parts over or switch to specialized tools for processing the back side, thereby significantly reducing machining costs.

Since our establishment, we have been engaged in the import and sale of HSS and carbide cutting tools, primarily from Europe and the United States, as well as the export of Japanese-made machine tools. Although our contribution to the import and sale of cutting tools may be modest, we have been striving to contribute to Japan's manufacturing industry. In order to respond to the diversifying needs of our customers, we believe it is essential to pay attention not only to domestic manufacturers' products but also to trends in overseas products. As we continue to import and sell cutting tools, we see it as our mission to introduce products from overseas manufacturers that possess untapped technological and product capabilities, tailored to the needs of Japan's manufacturing industry. We aim to be recognized by our customers as "the go-to for imported cutting tools" and will work together as a company to continue discovering overseas products. Additionally, we promise to actively strengthen our efforts not only in the production of custom items that meet customer needs but also in collaborative development of new products, taking on the role of a cutting tool manufacturer rather than just a trading company.
