[Proposal Example] Adopt off-the-shelf parts as much as possible to reduce costs.

We propose replacing with off-the-shelf products or standard items from general manufacturers!

We would like to introduce examples of our VA/VE proposals. In the production of custom jigs, a bottleneck often arises from the design at the individual component level. For instance, when designing shapes that do not exist in off-the-shelf products, the creation of part drawings, procurement of materials, and machining inevitably lead to increased costs. Therefore, we propose replacing these with off-the-shelf products or standard items from general manufacturers. Components commonly used in jig production, such as screws, clamps, and linear guides, are often most cost-effectively sourced from existing products. [Case Overview] ■ Issues - Designing shapes that do not exist in off-the-shelf products leads to the creation of part drawings, procurement of materials, and machining, which inevitably increases costs. ■ Proposal - Replacement with off-the-shelf products or standard items from general manufacturers. - Clearly define what is necessary for the jig's functionality and how it will be used in the process, and then request it from the jig manufacturer. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
