Resonant cast excitation transformer
Supports inrush current and harmonic current.
It is designed to handle harmonic currents emitted by thyristors and inrush currents associated with repeated power supply activation.
basic information
The excitation machine is a device that supplies direct current to the electromagnet used for power generation in synchronous generators. The Rishokycast excitation transformer has received much patronage for this excitation machine. Initially, the supply of direct current was done by a direct current generator, but due to advancements in semiconductor technology, it has recently become mainstream to convert alternating current obtained from an external power source into direct current using a rectifier circuit (thyristor). The excitation transformer converts the high-voltage current obtained from outside into a voltage suitable for the operation of the thyristor. The thyristor converts alternating current into direct current by turning it ON/OFF in small increments, but the "harmonic current" generated as a result increases the operating noise of the transformer. Additionally, since generators often stop and start due to power supply and demand conditions or maintenance inspections, the transformers used in these applications experience more instances of inrush current when power is applied compared to those used in general equipment. Large inrush currents can cause protective devices to malfunction. The Rishokycast excitation transformer is equipped with characteristics that can handle these issues.
