Spot Cooling Device | Ultra-Low Temperature Air Generator "Kolder" (Video Available)
A compact spot cooler that generates ultra-low temperature air with a maximum temperature difference of -75°C just by connecting compressed air.
The Kolder is a simplified spot cooler that applies the principle of vortex. Without using a power supply or refrigerant gas, it discharges ultra-low temperature air with a maximum temperature difference of -75°C (at a supply pressure of 0.7 MPa, in the case of model 190-75SV) simply by connecting compressed air. A typical application of the generated cooling air is the removal of heat generated during the processing of materials such as metals and plastics, and it demonstrates excellent effectiveness, especially in the processing of hard materials and high-viscosity substances (such as titanium alloys, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and thermoplastic plastics). Additionally, the cooling effect on workpieces and tools leads to improved cutting speeds and extended tool life, making it particularly suitable for dry cutting of magnesium alloys. Furthermore, it is effectively utilized as a cooling source for various spot cooling applications, including preventing heat-related issues in electrical control boxes and various measuring instrument boxes, cooling molds, and cooling tests for semiconductors and PC boards. *For more details, please refer to the basic information and downloadable materials at the bottom of the page.

Applications/Examples of results
【Examples of Use】 It is used for various "spot cooling" applications, from localized cooling during machining such as cutting in manufacturing sites to cooling inside boxes like control panels. 【Usage Examples】 - Spot welding: Cooling the spot weld area with cold air eliminates the need for post-processing and improves product quality. - Metal threading: The cooling air from the cold air unit increases the threading speed, prevents heat buildup, extends tool life, and improves the accuracy of the threads. - Plastic cutting: The low-temperature air from the cold air unit prevents an increase in friction heat, allows for high-speed work, and results in a clean cut surface. - Metalworking - Tapping: With -18°C cold air from the cold air unit, brass tapping can be done without using coolant. The finish is clean, allowing for the next process to be skipped.
Detailed information
-
Kolder Option Parts We have lined up convenient option parts for the Kolder ultra-low temperature air generator. These include extension hoses that are useful for directing the discharged cold air and positioning it on the workpiece, as well as fixtures that make installation easier.
-
The cold air discharge can be easily adjusted with the control knob.
-
Plastic processing The air gun cools the cutting blade with air at minus 12°C, which speeds up the plastic processing and results in a beautiful finish.
-
Metal processing/grinding Using an air gun for cooling the wheel and workpiece will increase grinding speed and also improve the machining accuracy of the product.
-
Grooving wood The air gun blows minus 12°C air onto the grooving bit, increasing the grooving speed while preventing burning or discoloration of the wood and leaving no wood chips behind.
-
Metalworking - Band Saw - When cutting materials such as bars, cold air is used as a substitute for coolant. This extends the life of the blade and prevents dulling of the cutting edge before its lifespan is reached.
-
Fiber / Sewing and Embroidery In large-scale sewing and embroidery operations, the use of an air gun prevents needle heating, eliminating thread burning and thread supply interruptions.
-
Food processing / product cooling Clean and dry air from an air gun is directed into a plastic enclosure and blown onto baked goods. This requires less investment compared to a long cooling conveyor.

Sanwa Enterprise for pneumatic equipment. Starting remote business negotiations.
Sanwa Enterprise Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of pneumatic equipment, started remote business meetings in February 2021. Due to the impact of infectious diseases, many companies are facing the inconvenience of being unable to gather information in person. If you have challenges in your manufacturing site like the following, please take advantage of our remote business meetings. ▽ I want to address the heat generated by equipment and workpieces. → Please let us know the size of the target and the surrounding environment. In some cases, applying cooling over a wide area may be more effective than spot cooling. ▽ I want to quickly drain and dry after cleaning. → Please tell us about the shape of the target. We can suggest various types of blowing methods, such as layered, annular, or spot. ▽ I want to transport powder efficiently. → Please provide details about the transport target. We have models that can be integrated into existing air transport lines and can adjust airflow. Sanwa Enterprise's remote business meetings offer: ◆ Clear explanations while viewing materials together. Customers can easily share their own materials as well. ◆ A better understanding of the actual size and installation methods of the equipment. ◆ All you need is an internet connection. Smartphones are also acceptable. There is no need to prepare cumbersome tools or accounts.

New release of "Stainless Steel Circle Blow" to enhance rust prevention effects for drainage applications and more.
The "Stainless Steel Circle Blow" is a nozzle that, by simply connecting compressed air, draws in a large amount of surrounding air from the rear and generates a uniformly amplified ring-shaped airflow. While conventional products were made of aluminum, the new product improves rust prevention for applications such as draining by using stainless steel as the main material. The Circle Blow, which does not require a power supply and is easy to install in production environments, is effective for blowing, draining, and drying long workpieces such as metal and plastic pipes, wires, cables, and extruded products. It is available in three sizes with effective inner diameters of 75 mm, 125 mm, and 180 mm. Sanwa Enterprise Co., Ltd. is a pioneer in the pneumatic equipment manufacturing industry, founded in 1971. For over 40 years, it has supplied products themed around "cooling," "blowing," and "air transport" using compressed air, including the "Cryogenic Air Generator Kolder," to manufacturing sites in various fields. On the special page, we introduce various products of Sanwa's pneumatic equipment, highlighting three features: "cooling," "blowing away," and "transporting."
