There are also cold-resistant coatings for chewing gum bases and cheese wheels. In hot melt adhesives, it imparts plasticity and forms flexible bonds. Many wax products that we use daily, from crayons and candles to caulking and sealants, rely on Sonneborn Multiwax. It is also used as a compound carrier to form coatings for rust prevention applications. On February 21, 2025 (Friday), at the RIKEN Suzuaki Umetaro Memorial Hall, I received the "Iwaki Award for Business" from the Tribology Technology Research Association. This award recognizes individuals, corporations, and organizations that have made significant achievements in the field of tribo-coating, and it was established in 2008. I received the business award for the achievement titled "Support for Tribo-coating Research through the Promotion of Tribology Testing Machines Useful for DLC Films and Others."
