MTM-EC Traction Testing Machine
The evaluation of friction characteristics in the boundary, mixed, and elastohydrodynamic lubrication regions, which can be measured with conventional MTM, can be measured in an environment where a potential is applied between the ball and the disk.
The MTM traction testing machine, which serves as the base for the MTM-EC traction testing machine, is a tabletop type friction and wear testing machine of the ball-on-disk type provided by the UK company PCS Instruments. It is adopted as a standard device in the lubricants and additives industry. The test specimens of the ball and disk are electrically insulated, and both can serve as either the positive or negative electrode, applying direct current and alternating current voltage. 【Features】 ■ It is possible to add EC (evaluation testing under energized conditions) functionality to the existing MTM. ■ By using the optional 3D-SLIM, it is possible to observe the formation process of the tribofilms. ■ Power and voltage setting range - high range measurement accuracy (noise): 0 to +/-60V, 0 to 3.5A +/-120mV, +/-20mA. ■ Power and voltage setting range - low range measurement accuracy (noise): 0 to +/-10V, 0 to 200mA +/-20mV, +/-0.4mA. 【Main Evaluation Contents】 Stribeck curve (friction coefficient × rolling speed) Traction curve (friction coefficient × slip ratio) Tribofilm measurement *Optional *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.
