Adopted for the small recovery capsule mounted on the "Kounotori" cargo spacecraft for the space station.

The straight-type direct-acting solenoid valve developed by Shinwa Controls will be installed in the small recovery capsule mounted on the HTV, which is being developed as a means of transporting supplies to the International Space Station (ISS) by JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). Previous supply vehicles (HTV) were designed to burn up upon re-entering the atmosphere, but the HTV currently under development will store samples generated from experiments on the ISS in the small recovery capsule and bring them back to Earth. Our solenoid valves will be installed a total of nine in this small recovery capsule, with eight of them used as injection valves to control the capsule's attitude after it re-enters the atmosphere, and one used to operate the deceleration parachute.
