Release of the Overseas Certification PRO Mechanical Regulations (2023/1230/EU)
In June 2023, the "Machinery Regulation" was released by the European Commission. *A free seminar will be held in February 2024.
Original text: Machinery Regulation (2023/1230/EU) A significant change is that the current Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) has been updated to address many issues related to recent technologies (such as AI (Artificial Intelligence), cybersecurity (cyber resilience), and online sales) that it does not fully cover. This includes the addition of requirements and changes in the chapter structure to align with other CE marking directives. Furthermore, the purpose of transitioning to the Machinery Regulation (2023/1230/EU) is to address the technological advancements since the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) was amended on December 29, 2009. The current Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) has not kept pace with recent technologies (such as AI, cybersecurity, and online sales), leading to inconsistencies (inappropriateness, inconveniences, ambiguities) and issues such as inconsistent market surveillance. Improving these various problems is a major objective. *The original text is available on our website. https://tenderlove-pcb.biz/column/kikaikisoku2023/
basic information
As a result, we will be able to address the risks (threats) and issues based on recent technologies (such as AI, cybersecurity, cyber resilience, and internet sales). 【Scope】 Large construction machinery, industrial machinery, industrial production lines, consumer machinery products, industrial robots, manufacturing 3D printers, and other machinery. 【Transition Period】 The complete transition will be on January 14, 2027. The current Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC) will expire on January 14, 2027, so it will be necessary to review test evaluation reports, DoC (Declaration of Conformity), TCF (Technical File), and other documents by then. Additionally, if you read the Machinery Regulation (2023/1230/EU), there is a mention in Article 54 regarding "Entry into force and application." This is a rare case that is not commonly seen, so detailed individual confirmation will be necessary. Our company will hold guidance seminars on the Machinery Regulation (in Tokyo and Osaka).
