Measurement of inorganic cations and ammonium in environmental water.
Introduction of analysis examples using the Dionex Easion IC system.
Ion chromatography (IC) is a widely accepted method for monitoring inorganic anions present in surface water, groundwater, drinking water, and wastewater. In the United States, common alkali metal, alkaline earth metal cations, and ammonium are not considered major contaminants in drinking water, whereas in Europe and Japan, they are routinely monitored, reported, and regulated. We present the measurement results of cations and ammonium in environmental water using the Thermo Scientific Dionex IonPac CS16 column with the Thermo Scientific Dionex Easion ion chromatography system in the chemical regeneration suppression (DCR) mode.
