Introduction of analysis case: Simultaneous analysis of amino acids and polyamines in food.
Simultaneous analysis of amino acids and polyamines in food using automatic derivatization by an autosampler.
Polyamines are a general term for linear alkyl amines that contain two or more amino groups in their molecules. They are present in the cells of almost all living organisms and are essential substances for cell proliferation and differentiation. They are also found in food, making their measurement indispensable. On the other hand, because polyamines do not absorb UV light, they are components for which establishing analytical methods is challenging. This application note introduces an analytical method in which a total of 26 components, including amino acids and polyamines, are eluted in 15 minutes using a pre-column derivatization method.
