Realizing next-generation thermal design! Toyota Motor's thermal flow sensor 'Energy flow' visualizes heat flow that cannot be captured by temperature alone.

"Energy flow" refers to a sensor that can only detect convective heat dissipation. While a heat flow sensor measures the combined heat flux of radiation and convection, the convective heat dissipation sensor outputs only the heat flux from convection! Due to differences in the emissivity of the sensor surface, it becomes possible to separate the heat dissipation into convective and radiative components.
