With the broadening wavelength range and higher output of LEDs, their applications have expanded to include traffic lights and car headlights, and they also contribute to miniaturization, lightweight design, and greater design flexibility. Additionally, compared to traditional light sources, LEDs have a longer lifespan and require less frequent replacement, significantly enhancing maintenance efficiency. Recently, the commercialization of ultraviolet LEDs has also progressed, opening up new possibilities. At this seminar, there will be a keynote speech by Professor Onuma from Kogakuin University covering the basics and history of LEDs, as well as cutting-edge LED research.
