A new next-generation mobility building has been established at the Kashima EMC Testing Laboratory to promote CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric) initiatives in the automotive industry. Following the facility in Miyoshi City, Aichi Prefecture, dedicated EMC testing services for vehicles will be offered at two locations in Japan.

A next-generation mobility building equipped with two EHV chambers will be constructed at the Kashima EMC Testing Laboratory in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture. UL is strengthening its safety compliance and service business to support CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) initiatives under the slogan "Connecting the Future of Cars." The services at the next-generation mobility building are scheduled to begin in January 2020, which will enable EMC testing in accordance with "CISPR 25:2016 Ed.4 Annex I" and "ISO 11452-2 Ed.3 Clause 8," thereby improving customer convenience. In October 2016, a new evaluation method for automotive components for EVs/HVs was added to the international standard "CISPR 25:2016 Ed.4 Annex I." This necessitated EMC testing under real load conditions simulating driving. In January 2019, similar tests were also added to "ISO 11452-2 Ed.3 Clause 8" and "GB/T 36282-2018." To meet the increasing domestic demand, the decision was made to construct the next-generation mobility building at the Kashima EMC Testing Laboratory.
