Eddy Current Non-Contact Displacement Gauge UEC-1
Achieving submicron order displacement measurement even in environments where water and oil are splashed.
UEC-1 is a non-contact displacement sensor using an eddy current method, optimized for high-speed measurement of small displacements unaffected by water or oil in the measurement gap. It achieves a response speed of 100 kHz and a resolution in the sub-micron range. High-frequency current flows through a coil inside the sensor, generating a high-frequency magnetic field. Eddy currents are induced around the magnetic field lines on the surface of the measurement target due to electromagnetic induction. The magnitude of the eddy currents changes with the distance between the sensor and the measurement target, and the output corresponding to the distance is obtained from the impedance change of the sensor probe. Application examples: - As a displacement sensor for high-speed positioning feedback in micro-motion stages - For high-speed displacement measurement - For measuring the rotational speed of gears (e.g., using a 90-tooth gear can measure up to 50,000 rpm) - Using two sensors to measure the rotational angle corresponding to the forward and reverse rotation of gears - Analyzing the behavior of pistons, valves, and crankshafts - Measuring and monitoring the rotational behavior and characteristics of turbine rotors - Measuring the vibration of workpieces during machining - Endpoint detection for lapping machines
