"ROLIS" is a device that captures images by transferring a cylindrical surface onto a two-dimensional imaging sensor (CCD camera). The imaging mechanism is similar to rolling a cylinder on paper to transfer the surface pattern. It has many advantages compared to scanning imaging with a typical line sensor camera. The slit across the entire CCD is adjustable, allowing for real-time two-dimensional image focusing, angle adjustment, and light source adjustment by opening the slit.
