SimericsMP+ is a fluid simulation tool designed to calculate the transient characteristics of various valves, volumetric pumps, and compressors. It is developed based on the thermal fluid simulation tool Simerics MP and utilizes all the features of Simerics MP. 【The following fluid analyses are possible】 ■ Free surface flow ■ Flow considering the compressibility of air contained in liquids ■ Pressure pulsations and water hammer effects ■ Coupling of pump flow with the rigid body motion of valves and cam rings ■ Flow in low to medium vacuum conditions ■ Compressible flow (subsonic) ■ Cavitation ■ Time variation of flow field (velocity vectors, pressure), flow rate, fluid forces, and torque Its greatest strength is the ability to automatically create meshes even for clearances on the order of micrometers, which is difficult for other general-purpose fluid analysis software! (1) Automatic generation of calculation meshes! Even for complex flow paths, automatic generation of calculation meshes is possible with simple button operations. Additionally, for pump chambers involving rotation/volume changes, high-precision calculation meshes can be automatically generated using a dedicated mesh creation module. It is possible to automatically execute the movement/rotation/deformation of high-precision meshes without the need for tedious tasks. (2) Fluid analysis of various valves and gear pumps is possible! SimericsMP+ has an automatic mesh creation function for various valves and pumps, making it easy to perform calculations for a variety of valves and pumps, including calculations for flow paths containing valves, and coupled analysis is also possible. (3) More accurate modeling of aeration/cavitation! It includes a high-precision cavitation model, allowing for the prediction of non-condensable gas expansion and vapor generation due to cavitation. (4) Calculation of free surface flow As a new feature, the calculation of free surface flow has become possible. It is now possible to analyze oil splashing inside the gearbox and oil suction from the oil pan during pump startup.
