Defoamer/Antifoam Agent for Solvent-Free and Solvent-Based Paints BYK-1760
Emission-free silicone and polymer-based defoamers and degassing agents for solvent-free and solvent-based paints, adhesives, sealants, and casting resins.
BYK-1760 is a newly developed defoamer that enables the rapid and efficient removal of air from the system without altering optical or mechanical properties. This highly effective additive is primarily recommended for solvent-free systems. The epoxy functional groups contained in the additive allow for fixation in the polymer matrix, preventing negative side effects such as increased slip. Furthermore, BYK-1760 is also recommended for plastic applications (such as casting resins) as well as adhesives and sealants. This additive also demonstrates a wide range of properties in these applications.

Applications/Examples of results
Applicable Fields • Floor Coatings • Anti-Corrosion Coatings • Casting Resins • Adhesives and Sealants Adhesives and Sealants Applications: BYK-1760 is an effective defoamer and degasser for solvent-based and solvent-free adhesives. It demonstrates effectiveness during manufacturing and application processes and is particularly recommended for one-component and two-component epoxy resin systems. BYK-1760 efficiently eliminates macro and micro foam and is especially recommended for high-viscosity and thick-film systems. The epoxy functional groups contained in the additive allow for easy fixation in the polymer matrix. Recommended addition amount: 0.1-1% as an additive relative to the total formulation.
