BYK-AQUAGEL Easy Dispersibility Inorganic Rheology Control Agent
BYK-AQUAGEL 7100 is a product characterized by easy dispersibility and the absence of crystalline silica.
■Easy dispersibility that allows viscosity to be exhibited even with direct addition to the system - Easily dispersible, saving energy required for the process - Contains almost no crystalline silica (less than 0.1%) ■Excellent sedimentation prevention even at low viscosity - Prevents sedimentation without significantly increasing viscosity ■Rapid manifestation of rheological effects - Short time to reach final viscosity - Almost no post-thickening ■Intermediate product (pregel) with low viscosity even at higher concentrations compared to conventional products - Rheological effects remain unchanged whether in powder form or as an intermediate product
basic information
BYK-AQUAGEL 7100 【General Properties】 ■ Bulk Density: 450–650 kg/m³ ■ Moisture Content: Maximum 13% Features BYK-AQUAGEL 7100 is a rheology additive based on high-purity natural phyllosilicate that generates thixotropic flow behavior. Compared to conventional natural silicates, it has a significantly open and delaminated shape, which improves processability and effectiveness. As a result, it can achieve the target viscosity with lower shear forces and shorter dispersion times. This additive is particularly excellent at preventing the sedimentation of solids and improving storage stability. It also enhances the applicability to higher-filled systems and increases anti-drip properties, enabling thicker film formation. BYK-AQUAGEL 7100 allows for the production of highly filled and flowable intermediates, can be used in all processes without additional dispersion treatment, and provides low viscosity with long-term storage stability. This additive is stable against diluted bases and commonly used diluted acids in inorganic systems.
