Hertz Electronics Co., Ltd. will provide a software update to expand the functionality of the "En-Guard(R)" series "Remote Monitoring System for Gas Detection," which ensures the safety of workers operating in hazardous environments, starting September 25, 2025. The "Remote Monitoring System for Gas Detection" quickly alerts nearby workers and supervisors in distant locations when gas detectors manufactured by RIKEN KEIKI Co., Ltd. (portable gas monitors "GX-3R Pro," "CO-04BT(C-)," "CX-04BT," and the hazardous gas detector for manhole and pit work "GX-2100") detect the risks of gas poisoning or oxygen deficiency, thereby protecting worker safety. This software update will add three features to expand the means and range of transmitting alarms (gas alarms, man-down alarms, panic alarms, etc.) triggered by the gas detectors to distant colleagues: 1. Lighting alarm lights located at a distance when an alarm is triggered. 2. Acquiring alarm information via Web API. 3. Extending the wireless transmission distance of alarms (increasing the number of relay devices that can be introduced from a maximum of 2 stages to a maximum of 4 stages).

Hertz Electronics Co., Ltd. will sequentially release three new products as part of its "Poka-Yoke Tools," a group of IoT tools that support the prevention of operator errors (poka-yoke) in production processes such as assembly and inspection, where high quality is required. The new products are the insertion unit "PU-SX," the pulling unit "PC-SX," and the screw locking agent attachment "TFC-100-01-850." The PU-SX and PC-SX are products that enable poka-yoke for various insertion and pulling tasks, such as connectors and clips for circuit boards, by exchanging the tip and spring. Additionally, the TFC-100-01-850 allows for poka-yoke in the application of screw locking agents by being retrofitted to your existing screw locking agent (bottle). These products will be showcased for the first time at our booth (booth number: S31-8) during the "9th Smart Factory EXPO," which will be held from January 22 (Wednesday) to January 24 (Friday), 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight, South Exhibition Hall, 4th floor. "Ensuring the safety of workers operating in hazardous environments" En GuardⓇ will update the software of its "Remote Monitoring System for Gas Detection" to version V2.00. This upgrade will support gas detection for manhole and pit work, and with the introduction of relay devices, it will extend the communication range to approximately 900m indoors and about 2.6 km in line of sight. This system quickly alerts nearby workers and supervisors in distant locations when the risk of gas poisoning or oxygen deficiency increases, thereby protecting the safety of the workers. The system consists of the En Guard Portable "ENP-BT01J" carried by workers, the safety monitoring software "En-Guard plus for Gas Monitor" for supervisors to oversee worker safety, and the En-Guard Hub "ENH-LR01J". It collaborates with RIKEN KEIKI Co., Ltd.'s portable gas monitors "GX-3R Pro", "CO-04BT(C-)", "CX-04BT", and the hazardous gas detector "GX-2100" for manhole and pit work via BluetoothⓇ.

By upgrading to V2.00, in addition to the conventional communication configuration of "1:1," it will also support communication configurations of "1:4," "4:1," and "1:N (broadcast communication)." The WCP-LR16J is equipped with our compact LoRa wireless module operating in the 920MHz band and features "easy setup, ready to use when connected to equipment (no wiring work required)," "switchable contact input transmission and contact output reception," and "wireless transmission possible up to approximately 300m indoors / about 2,000m in line of sight." These devices are part of the "Poka-Yoke Tools," a set of IoT tools that support the prevention of operator errors (poka-yoke) in production processes where high quality is required. Since the release of the TW-800R-SCL in 2018 for customers who want to start poka-yoke with tools immediately, the need to prevent work omissions in job sites using battery tools, check pens S (marking pens), torque wrenches, and other tools has been increasing, leading to a rise in adoption in work environments year by year. To respond to requests from customers both domestically and internationally, version 2.00 will include the addition of a new mode, "Simple Count Mode" (a mode that counts up only and does not make judgments), as well as features such as counting up function, judgment function using a work timer, work number display function, and LAN output function for work performance data during "Standalone Mode."

The TW-800R-SLNX can be paired with two transmitters (tools) and can output work performance data to PLCs or PCs via LAN. While the number of pairable transmitters (tools) is limited compared to the Pokayoke receiver "TW-800R-EXL," which can also connect via LAN, it allows for a cost-effective implementation of Pokayoke in production processes that utilize one to two tools. ◇ Main features of the LAN-connected Pokayoke receiver TW-800R-SLNX The TW-800R-SLNX is a Pokayoke receiver designed for production processes using tools (such as in assembly, machining, and pressing) for customers who are troubled by "missing work." 1. It can be paired with two transmitters (the current number of paired devices is displayed via LED). 2. It can output work performance data to PLCs or PCs via LAN. 3. The external output time can be finely set (in 12 steps within 50ms to 1s). 4. The double count prevention time can be finely set (in 19 steps within 10ms to 15s).
