BIO-DIS is a dissolution tester for conducting release rate tests, compliant with USP Apparatus 3 and EP Reciprocating Cylinder tests. It is an ideal dissolution tester for formulations that require sustained release formulations and dissolution profiles at multiple pH levels.
basic information
It can operate unmanned for over a month and can save and use up to 15 measurement programs. All parameters related to the test, including the cylinder dip speed, time settings for each column, dip holding time, and drainage time, can be programmed. In Japan, there is also a description of the dissolution testing method using this Reciprocating Cylinder in the Pharmaceutical and Food Safety Bureau Notification No. 0726-1, dated July 26, 2011.

■Biological Equivalence It enables the simulation of the biological equivalence of the gastric and intestinal environment for formulations based on stirring speed and testing time during dissolution. ■Flexible Responsiveness After the sample is set in the device, it is automatically transferred from one test solution to another, freeing the operator from labor-intensive and nerve-wracking tasks, contributing to effective use of manpower and labor-saving. ■Regulatory Compliance It complies with USP Apparatus 3 and EP reciprocating cylinder apparatus standards. ■Wide Range of Measurement Purposes Depending on the testing conditions, the cylinder capacity can be selected for standard, small, or large volumes to accommodate low concentration sampling or poorly soluble samples.

Report on the Holding of the Dissolution Test Technical Seminar 2018
We held the "Dissolution Testing Technical Seminar 2018" at the Tokyo and Osaka venues. On the day of the event, Mr. Bryan Crist from Agilent Technologies in the United States gave a presentation on dissolution testing from the perspective of the latest guidelines. Additionally, Professor Yusuke Tanaka from Hiroshima International University spoke about "In vivo dissolution behavior of drugs in the gastrointestinal tract," and Mr. Satoru Arai from Toray Industries discussed "Key points for practical management in testing laboratories to accommodate the three poles."
