"Idemitsu Smart OC" is a technology that allows for easy on-site diagnosis of the degradation and contamination state of lubricants using a smartphone and a photography module. We are pleased to announce that we have received the Good Design Award for the fiscal year 2025. The "Good Design Award," organized by the Japan Design Promotion Association, is Japan's only comprehensive design evaluation and recommendation system. This award places greater importance on innovation than on mere aesthetic beauty, and it has been recognized as an innovation that addresses social issues such as labor shortages and environmental impact reduction. By simply photographing the lubricant contained in the module with a smartphone, it calculates the remaining lifespan percentage and the quantity and size of contaminants. This allows for a data-driven judgment of the appropriate timing for lubricant replacement, contributing to the stable operation of machinery and equipment. We are pleased to announce that our latest water-soluble cutting oil, the "Daphne Alpha Cool NV Series," has received the "Minister of the Environment Award" at the Green Sustainable Chemistry (GSC) Awards. This award recognizes our contribution to "reducing environmental impact" and acknowledges our product as socially implemented. The NV Series includes two types: an emulsion type that supports a wide range of processing from non-ferrous to alloy steel, and a soluble type specialized for iron processing. By combining the concepts of "improving the work environment on-site" and "reducing the amount of concentrate used," we have developed a water-soluble cutting oil that is friendly to the environment, producers, and the economy, which has been adopted by many customers.
