Introduction to Mass Flow Controllers for Biopharmaceuticals

ITWジャパン
In the manufacturing process of active pharmaceutical ingredients for biopharmaceuticals, including antibody drugs and vaccines, the goal is to culture and scale up viruses and cells, which requires creating an environment conducive to the survival of the target organisms. It is necessary to monitor pH levels and dissolved oxygen concentrations while controlling the flow rates of air, oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide with mass flow controllers (MFCs) to maintain an optimal culture environment. Our mass flow controllers (MFCs) have a comprehensive lineup ranging from ultra-low flow rates (3 ssm) to high flow rates (2500 slm), and they have a proven track record in many culture systems both domestically and internationally, from research and development to mass production facilities. Additionally, our new bio-option specification MFC achieves a range ratio of 3 to 5 times compared to traditional rangeability (2-100% of full scale), allowing for more precise low-flow control with a single MFC. It is also possible to use elastomer materials that comply with FDA/USP Class VI requirements, which are demanded by the pharmaceutical and medical industries.
