[Case Study] Laser Engraving and Quality Verification of DataMatrix Codes
Engraving a DataMatrix code on aluminum parts with a depth of 0.1mm using a 20W fiber laser. Strengthening traceability through reading verification.
This is a case study of using the 20W fiber laser marker "GRAPHIX" for marking aluminum alloy parts. The company employs laser engraving of DataMatrix codes and alphanumeric characters for the purpose of part identification and traceability management. Engravings are made to a depth of 0.1mm on untreated aluminum surfaces. After engraving, the codes are read using a wireless barcode reader and a 2D code reader to verify the quality grade (Grade A or B) of the codes. By not only performing the engraving but also verifying the reading quality, the company ensures reliable part identification and traceability management. <Implementation Effects> ■ Engraving of DataMatrix codes: Marking 2D codes on aluminum alloy parts. ■ 0.1mm deep laser engraving: Ensuring depth in the engraving on untreated aluminum surfaces. ■ Support for alphanumeric marking: Achieving part identification by combining codes and alphanumeric characters. ■ Wireless reading verification: Reading the engraved codes with a wireless barcode reader. ■ Code quality verification: Checking quality grades with a 2D code reader to enhance traceability.
