Overview of JIS Z 0232 (Packaging Goods - Vibration Test Method): - JIS Z 0232 (Vibration Test Method) is a testing method used to evaluate the vibration resistance of contents or packaging against vibrations experienced during the distribution process of packaged goods. - This standard specifies both random vibration tests and sinusoidal sweep vibration tests, but it is stated that the random vibration test is the method that most accurately reproduces the actual transport environment. Therefore, when testing equipment is available, it is preferable to prioritize the application of the random vibration test. - The test levels and vibration duration should be selected with reference to JIS Z 0200 General Rules for Testing Methods, and the vibration test will be conducted accordingly.

JIS Z 0200 Packaging of Goods - General Principles for Performance Testing Methods
Based on the content of ISO 4180, this is a testing method for evaluating the packaging of packaged goods against vibrations, drop impacts, and compression during the distribution process.

- In the main body, the test sequence consists of "vibration test, drop test, and compression test with separate test samples," while in the appendix, the basic test sequence is composed of four tests: pre-treatment, drop, vibration, and compression tests. - The strength levels of the tests are classified into levels 1 to 3.
[Test Case] JIS Z 0202 Drop Test
It is also possible to capture the behavior of the product and the deformation of the cushioning packaging in as little as 1/2000 of a second for visual confirmation through video.

[Drop Direction and Drop Count] ◇ Vertical Free Fall Test and Equivalent Drop Test: Conducted drop tests from 1 corner, 3 edges, and 6 surfaces (total: 10 times). ◇ Single Support Edge Drop Test: Supported on a platform 15 cm high, conducted drop tests twice on the opposite edge (total: 4 times).

The testing method applies an inclined surface test using an inclined impact testing machine.

【One Point Advice】 You can install an acceleration pickup sensor on the product to measure the impact value during a drop, and by using a high-speed camera, it is also possible to capture the behavior of the packaged product and the deformation of the cushioning packaging during the drop impact at a maximum of 1/2000 seconds, allowing for visual confirmation through video.
