[New Product] Shock Eye (Impact Detection Tool) Now Available for Sale
JBL has recently developed a shock detection warning tool called "Shock Eye," aimed at reducing damage incidents to cargo during transportation. ■ Background of Shock Eye Development 1. In international transportation involving a large number of unspecified cargo handlers, it is extremely difficult to investigate the causes of cargo damage, making it challenging to devise countermeasures. 2. When shipping cargo via international express delivery and similar services, damage often occurs due to drops or impacts, leading to difficulties in addressing these issues. 3. There is a need for a warning tool that raises awareness about proper cargo handling and prevents careless handling in advance. By attaching Shock Eye to the cargo, it becomes possible to visualize the presence of shocks caused by drops or impacts during transportation and storage. When a drop or impact occurs, the central visibility window turns red, allowing for confirmation of whether a drop or impact has taken place. When used in conjunction with warning labels, it is expected to raise awareness among cargo handlers about proper handling, thereby preventing damage issues caused by careless handling. It serves as a strong ally in increasing deterrence and protecting valuable products from damage during transportation.

Notice of Revision of ASTM D4169-22 Standard
The latest version of the ASTM D4169 standard for performance testing of transport containers and systems by ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials) was published in February 2022. Please refer to the related document "Case Study: Overview of Transport Packaging Testing ASTM D4169-22." ASTM D4169 transport packaging testing is one of the most widely referenced testing standards in the United States for a long time. ISO 11607 (packaging for terminally sterilized medical devices) requires the evaluation of materials and performance of sterilization barrier packaging and outer packaging, conducting packaging evaluation tests under shipping packaging performance evaluation tests such as ASTM D4169, ISTA series 1-3, and ISO 4180 standards. JBL is a leading company in Japan in terms of experience with ASTM transport testing and is chosen by various industries. In particular, for transport testing related to FDA certification of medical devices, we conduct over 300 tests annually and provide support from planning to report preparation. With specialized knowledge and advanced technology in packaging testing and packaging materials and design, we receive high praise from many companies.
