Contents and Key Points of ASTM D642-25 Standard Revision
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has announced the latest version of ASTM D642 (Standard Test Method for Compression Resistance of Shipping Containers, Components, and Unit Loads), ASTM D642-25. This revision aims to enhance the consistency and accuracy of the testing. Background of the Revision - Improvement of accuracy, reproducibility, and reliability of compression tests - Strengthening of consistency among standards - Ensuring consistency in practical applications Main Changes 1. Addition of related standards due to strengthened consistency among standards: ASTM D5118 (Specification for Fiberboard Shipping Boxes) ASTM D6804 (Guide for Shipping Containers) 2. New requirements for movable platens: It is now mandatory to drive the platen at a constant speed of 0.5 inches per minute (12.7 mm ± 2.5 mm/min). This change aims to improve testing accuracy. 3. Direction recording during testing: It is now required to record the test direction during the test. 4. Update of Appendix X1 (X1.7): Clarification of flap handling methods for boxes: "Flaps should be bent directly to the sealing position or folded 180° and then returned to the normal sealing position." Impact and Benefits - Improved testing accuracy and reproducibility - Strengthened consistency among standards - Enhanced reliability of packaging tests

ASTM F2096 Bubble Test
[Test Overview] The bubble leak test uses a testing method compliant with ASTM F2096 standards, submerging sealed packages underwater and applying internal pressure to detect the presence of leaks in non-porous and porous packaging. In particular, in the medical device field where confirmation of the integrity of sterilized packaging is required, we provide highly reliable test results. [Test Equipment] Leak Tester: Sun Science FKT-100 (maximum pressure 0.07 MPa) Testing Water Tanks: - Small: 585 × 435 × 435(h) mm - Medium: 1,775 × 430 × 420(h) mm - Large: 840 × 840 × 425(h) mm *The feasibility of testing will be determined based on the size and shape of the packaging. Please feel free to consult us for details. [Benefits of Requesting Our Services] Highly reliable testing compliant with ASTM standards Numerous achievements in the medical and pharmaceutical industries Ideal for evaluating the validity of packaging design and quality assurance activities Quick response and flexible adjustment of testing conditions are possible.

[New Product] Shock Eye (Impact Detection Tool) Now Available for Sale
JBL has recently developed a shock detection warning tool called "Shock Eye," aimed at reducing damage incidents to cargo during transportation. ■ Background of Shock Eye Development 1. In international transportation involving a large number of unspecified cargo handlers, it is extremely difficult to investigate the causes of cargo damage, making it challenging to devise countermeasures. 2. When shipping cargo via international express delivery and similar services, damage often occurs due to drops or impacts, leading to difficulties in addressing these issues. 3. There is a need for a warning tool that raises awareness about proper cargo handling and prevents careless handling in advance. By attaching Shock Eye to the cargo, it becomes possible to visualize the presence of shocks caused by drops or impacts during transportation and storage. When a drop or impact occurs, the central visibility window turns red, allowing for confirmation of whether a drop or impact has taken place. When used in conjunction with warning labels, it is expected to raise awareness among cargo handlers about proper handling, thereby preventing damage issues caused by careless handling. It serves as a strong ally in increasing deterrence and protecting valuable products from damage during transportation.
