EC/JIS C 60068 2 14 Nb (Constant Rate of Temperature Change Test)
We will conduct a constant temperature change test in accordance with international standards IEC and automotive-related standards.
Electronic devices are routinely exposed to rapid temperature fluctuations due to environmental changes, both indoors and outdoors. IEC 60068-2-14 (Nb) is widely used internationally as a test to replicate such temperature stress. It is an essential test for risk assessment related to material expansion due to temperature differences, internal condensation, and thermal fatigue.
basic information
1. IEC60068 Standard Testing / Purpose and Target Products IEC 60068-2-14 Nb is a test that evaluates the resistance of products to rapid or continuous temperature changes. It is widely adopted in the automotive industry as an evaluation test for components exposed to temperature change environments, such as in-vehicle ECUs, sensors, and actuators. It is used to confirm the reliability of products that are susceptible to temperature stress, including electronic devices, automotive parts, and precision instruments. 2. Overview of Test Conditions (IEC60068-2-14 Nb) - The chamber temperature is changed between TA and TB at a constant rate dTR. *Although IEC 60068-2-14 Nb does not specify a fixed rate of temperature change, the automotive industry generally uses a range of 1 to 15°C/min to simulate actual usage environments. - The specified exposure time t1 is maintained at each temperature (t1 is set according to the purpose and target). - This constitutes one cycle, and the specified number of cycles is conducted. - After the test is completed, a post-treatment is performed to return to standard atmospheric conditions (TSTD: 15-35°C, etc.) for evaluation.
