JIS Z 0200 Transport Testing

JIS Z 0200 (General Test Method for Evaluation) is a Japanese industrial standard based on the content of ISO 4180, which specifies test methods to evaluate whether the protection of packaging against vibrations, drop impacts, and compression occurring during the distribution process is adequate. (Revised in March 2013) It consists of a main body and appendices; the main body is created by modifying the technical content based on ISO 4180 to reflect unique Japanese circumstances, while Appendices A and B are described without altering the content of ISO 4180. The basic test sequence consists of four tests: pre-treatment, drop, vibration, and compression tests. If the hazards during the distribution process are known, "CASE 1" should be adopted; if they are not known, "CASE 2" should be adopted, and it is advisable to plan the packaging tests considering the test levels.
