JIS Z 0119 Damage Bounding Test
We will conduct the damage bounding test specified in JIS Z 0119 for packaging goods evaluation.
◇Overview of Damage Boundary Testing: - The main standards are specified in JIS Z 0119 (Damage Boundary Curve) and ASTM D3332 (Damage Boundary Curve / DBC). - The product's impact resistance (evaluation of product vulnerability) can be defined by two shock parameters: acceleration and velocity change. (Figure 1) - The allowable acceleration (Ac / Critical Acceleration) is determined at the limit point in a trapezoidal wave test. The allowable velocity change (Dc / Critical Velocity Change) is determined at the limit point in a half-sine wave test. (Figure 2) ▼ For more details, please download the PDF document. basic information
The method for determining the tolerance values will involve gradually increasing the level during both trapezoidal wave tests and half-sine wave tests, plotting the test results each time, and using the value just before the point of damage (according to ASTM D3332) or the intermediate value (according to JIS Z 0119).
