JIS Z 0200 Transport Testing(28)
JIS Z 0200 (General Test Method for Evaluation) is a Japanese industrial standard based on the content of ISO 4180, which specifies test methods to evaluate whether the protection of packaging against vibrations, drop impacts, and compression occurring during the distribution process is adequate. (Revised in March 2013) It consists of a main body and appendices; the main body is created by modifying the technical content based on ISO 4180 to reflect unique Japanese circumstances, while Appendices A and B are described without altering the content of ISO 4180. The basic test sequence consists of four tests: pre-treatment, drop, vibration, and compression tests. If the hazards during the distribution process are known, "CASE 1" should be adopted; if they are not known, "CASE 2" should be adopted, and it is advisable to plan the packaging tests considering the test levels. ASTM D7386 Transport Test(17)
In recent years, the proliferation of the internet has led to a rapid increase in the handling of small cargo shipments, such as those in mail order. To accommodate these transportation environments, a portion of ASTM D4169 was extracted, and ASTM D7386 was issued in March 2008. It specifies tests corresponding to eight hazard factors during transportation, and these tests are combined to form a comprehensive test that aligns with actual transportation environments. ASTM D7386 outlines four testing procedures categorized by cargo type, and our company conducts tests tailored to customer requests in accordance with the specified testing methods. For those wishing to request testing, please contact us at the following: ◆◆Contact person: 0466‐41‐0262 (Ishii) / 0466‐41‐0265 (Kitagawa) / 0466-41-0267 (Omata)

Introduction to Packaging Design Services
-
Free fall test(14)
Please leave the free fall test of packaged and wrapped cargo to JBL. It is for verifying the handling of lightweight cardboard boxes and similar items.
-
Drop impact test(19)
This is a testing machine that reproduces the impact of drops that packaged goods experience during transportation, allowing for the evaluation of product fragility and packaging specifications (cushioning methods). The size of the test table is 122×120 cm, accommodating larger cargo as well. The sample platform is designed as a single structure made of aluminum or magnesium, capable of generating very clean and highly reproducible impact pulses.
-
Random vibration test(15)
This is a testing machine that reproduces the vibrations that packaged goods experience during transportation, allowing for the evaluation of product fragility, packaging specifications, and securing methods. It can generate both sinusoidal and random vibrations. In the case of sinusoidal vibrations, it gradually changes the excitation frequency while maintaining a constant input acceleration, enabling the detection of resonance points where the excitation frequency matches the product's natural frequency, as well as conducting durability tests at those resonance points.
-
Vibration Test (Sine Wave)(13)
Leave the vibration testing of packaged and wrapped cargo to JBL. The test bench size is 1.2m × 1.2m, easily accommodating large palletized cargo.
-
Suspended free fall test(10)
Please leave the free fall tests of packaged and wrapped cargo to JBL. Free fall tests for large cargo and single support drop tests for unit loads.
-
Compression test(12)
This is a testing machine that can measure the maximum compressive load of containers and packaged goods to evaluate how much stacking they can withstand during transportation and storage.
-
Temperature and Humidity Environmental Testing(16)
It is a device that provides the necessary temperature and humidity environment for the test samples, and it is also possible to freely control the temperature and humidity. It is a testing machine used to observe degradation phenomena in electronic components and other materials under high temperature and high humidity conditions.
-
Altitude test and decompression test(1)
When transporting packaged goods to a certain destination, there may be encounters with high altitudes, such as during air transport or when trucks cross mountains. This low-pressure environment is one of the hazard factors anticipated during transportation, as specified in test items under ASTM D4169, ISO, MIL, JIS, and others. For electronic devices and components, including aerospace-related equipment, devices that need to be mounted, those expected to be used or transported in low-pressure environments, and secondary batteries (storage batteries), evaluation can be conducted using decompression test methods in accordance with decompression test standards. 【General Decompression Test Standards】 - ASTM D6653 (Decompression test method for packaged goods) - ISO 2873 (Decompression test method for packaged goods) - JIS C 60068-2-13 (Decompression test method) - JIS C 60068-2-40 (Low temperature and decompression combined test method) - JIS C 60068-2-41 (High temperature and decompression combined test method) - MIL STD-810 (Low Pressure) - JIS C 8712 (Safety of sealed small secondary batteries) - JIS W 0812 (Aircraft-mounted equipment - Environmental conditions and test procedures)
-
[IEC 60068] Environmental Testing Methods - Electrical and Electronic(10)
The IEC 60068 (JIS C 60068) standard group includes multiple methods and guidelines for evaluating environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure during product use, storage, and transportation, as well as climatic effects and dynamic impacts from vibration and shock.
-
Damage Boundary Test(3)
Are you caught up in quick fixes when troubles arise in the field? By understanding product strength, you can gain insights into better packaging design.
-
High-speed camera verification(2)
You can understand the behavior of products during a drop that cannot be captured by the naked eye. By capturing the moment of impact during the drop of the packaged product and observing it in slow motion, you can visually confirm which parts are vulnerable. This allows for feedback in product development and packaging design.

3D tilt sensor(0)
**Overview of the 3D TILT SENSOR** The 3D TILT SENSOR is a three-dimensional tilt detection sensor that can detect tilting in all directions (front/back and left/right) of cargo during transportation with just one unit. Unlike conventional tilt detection sensors that can only detect tilting separately in the front/back and left/right directions, this sensor reduces the number of units needed for installation on a single cargo by half, thereby also reducing installation time. The response angle is 80 degrees (in the front/back and left/right directions), with dimensions of 65mm x 89mm x 16.5mm and a weight of 24g. **Contact Information: 0466-41-0265 (Kitagawa) / 0466-41-0267 (Omata) / 0466-41-0262 (Ishii)** **JBL Packaging Testing Facility: ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) certified since December 2010**

Shock timer(1)
**Overview of Shock Timer (Impact Detection Sensor)** The causes of accidents during transportation are varied, including insufficient packaging and the carelessness of handlers, which can lead to incidents. Particularly in the transport of precision equipment, the exterior packaging may be robust, making it difficult to determine any damage to the contents from the outside. This situation can delay the reporting of accidents and complicate the investigation of causes and the determination of responsibility, making it challenging to improve transportation quality. Why do the impact detection and tilt detection sensors currently in common use not lead to improvements in transportation quality? Previous sensors could detect whether an accident occurred, but they could not determine "when" it happened, making them unhelpful for investigating causes and establishing responsibility. This led to the development of the 'Shock Timer.' When subjected to a certain level of impact, the built-in timer stops, and the stopping of the timer records the occurrence of an accident (the timer cannot be reset). **Contact Information: Person in Charge: 0466-41-0265 (Kitagawa) / 0466-41-0267 (Omata) / 0466-41-0262 (Ishii)**
