The red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" achieves rust prevention and reinforcement of piping through the black rust transformation of red rust! It significantly reduces maintenance costs for water supply pipes.

At the Nihon University College of Engineering campus in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, the water supply pipes in several research buildings were significantly deteriorated due to red rust, resulting in red water coming from the taps on holidays and the following days. To reduce the future piping renewal costs by 1/5 to 1/10, a red rust prevention device called "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed. The iron content in the water due to red rust decreased to less than 1/10 of the pre-installation level (from 7.8 mg/L before installation to 0.1 mg/L after installation). Originally, the iron content was at 7.8 mg/L, exceeding the water quality standard value of the Water Supply Act (0.3 mg/L), indicating a very serious progression of red rust. However, after installation, it was significantly below that standard value, proving the rust prevention effect through the blackening of red rust and the extension of pipe life. The water quality was remarkably restored to a hygienically satisfactory level.
