Significant cost reduction in hot water pipes at a 5-star hotel with red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector"
The NMR Pipe Protector is adopted not only in Japan but also in various important facilities around the world. At the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London, galvanized steel pipes (SGP) were used for the hot water supply. Galvanized steel pipes have a short lifespan of about 10 to 20 years, and red rust was occurring within the hotel's hot water supply pipes, resulting in poor water hygiene. While the standard value for iron content in water based on the UK's water quality regulations is 0.2 mg/l, the iron content in the hotel's hot water supply pipes was 13.35 mg/l. This value significantly exceeds the standard, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. With the NMR Pipe Protector, the iron content in the hot water supply pipes was reduced to below 0.2 mg/l. The NMR Pipe Protector utilizes free electrons in water, known as hydration electrons, to reduce the red rust that forms inside the pipes to black rust.
