The amount of black rust increased significantly from 4% to 43.6%! A case where line stoppage was completely prevented.

In August 1998, an "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed in the cooling water circulation piping of the welding robot cooling line located within a major automobile manufacturer’s factory in Fukuoka Prefecture to prevent red rust scale. Before installation, red rust from the cooling water piping would leach out, entering the narrow cooling tubes of the body welding robots, causing blockages that resulted in the welding robots stopping, which took over 15 minutes to recover. Nine months after installation, the cooling water piping was inspected, and the amount of black rust compared to the red rust before installation increased significantly from 4% to 43.6%. Additionally, line stoppages were completely prevented.
