Preventing the leaching of red rust in the hospital's air conditioning chilled and hot water piping and demonstrating rust prevention effectiveness!

At Hospital #H, which was built 48 years ago, the air conditioning chilled and warm water piping using galvanized steel pipes (SGP) has shown significant deterioration due to red rust, leading to leaks. Therefore, we installed the red rust prevention piping extension device "NMR Pipe Protector." Before installation, we sampled the circulating chilled and warm water from the air conditioning system, revealing a total iron concentration of 2.5 mg/l, indicating that red rust corrosion was progressing within the pipes. Four weeks after the installation of our product, a subsequent water sample showed a significant reduction in total iron concentration in the chilled and warm water to 0.4 mg/l. A water sample taken six years after installation showed the total iron concentration further decreased to 0.2 mg/l, completely halting the progression of new red rust within the air conditioning chilled water pipes. The existing red rust had transformed into an insoluble, passive black rust with a volume reduced to one-tenth.
