As part of research on magnetic bearings for attitude control of artificial satellites, two engineers from CSEM (Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology) are capturing disturbances of a reaction wheel using our dynamometer with magnetic bearings. Based on these high-precision disturbance measurement results, we have been able to evaluate a control algorithm for active control of synchronous rotational vibrations across the entire range of rotational speeds, allowing us to increase rotational speed while minimizing disturbances and power consumption.
